For obvious reasons the volume of M&A transactions in the consulting and IT services sector fell dramatically in the second quarter of 2020 in the grip of Cov-19 lockdowns around the globe. Some transactions were paused and others cancelled, but the end of the year and the beginning of 2021 saw a great deal of ‘catch-up’.
Whilst that is clearly now in the past, allowing for a slight summer slow-down, the inexorable rise in transaction volumes in the sector continues. So, the message to sellers is that there is likely to be a buyer for your business (assuming it has the right qualities) and to buyers that you will not be the only one interested in valuable consulting businesses.
