It is always flattering when approached by a potential acquirer, and our experiences tells us that about a third of transactions result from an acquirer approaching a potential target. The important thing is to not share too much information too early as you only have one chance to make a good first impression, and want to release information in a controlled way that maximises your value to them. By all means meet and discuss what you do, only divulging what can be seen publicly already on your website and LinkedIn, but DO NOT release financial information. If there appears to be a good case, and it is possible that your value aspirations can be met, then we can start a proactive process to achieve a great outcome.
